The Role: Reporting to the Engineering & Operation Manager, the right candidate will ensure that the performance and output from the workshop, stores and purchasing activities meets internal and external customer expectations, quality standards and are commercially viable. Our client are looking for a candidate with an interest in day-to-day operations, management of procurement, stores & logistics, workshop machine assembly activities as well as the effective dispatch of completed equipment and ancillary materials. The role encompasses responsibility and personnel management for the members of staff that undertake these activities. The role requires somebody who enjoys the diversity of this role as well as managing and supporting people within respected teams. Your core responsibilities are: Support the Engineering and Operations Manager in the preparation and monitoring of the departmental budget Ensure that the company supply chain offers best value to the business Ensure timely procurement of any project/stock materials in line with the planned assembly dates with support from the Purchasing / Admin Assistant Optimise inventory levels to meet the requirements of the business Optimise allocation of workload amongst the Stores team to ensure work is completed on time and efficiently Ensure you are fully aware of and adhere to the procurement limits set by the company Ensure that the workshop supervisor is effectively managing workshop activities on time and within budget Analyse and report variances from budgeted build hours and costs Plan for and facilitate any building maintenance required at head office Work closely with HR to recruit staff and sub-contractors Ensure that all equipment dispatched from the workshop has been appropriately tested, packed and is accompanied by the necessary documentation. Liaise with the Projects Coordinator to ensure transport requirements are in place to provide timely delivery of equipment and spares Work closely with the Engineering and Operations Manager and HR Manager to recruit employees within your remit Monitor, appraise and motivate the employees you are responsible for with the support of the Engineering and Operations Manager Facilitate any department personnel issues in conjunction with the HR Manager The Candidate: Experience within stock management, planning and supply chain Worked within a manufacturing or engineering business realistically Exposure to an ERP system Good management skills – people and strategic Hands on attitude (happy Engineering qualification (ideal) If you are interested please call Justin Reynolds or apply online Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK to apply for this position
