4.5 Day Week This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Head Chef to join our team at this Highly Successful, Contemporary Dining Pub in Birkenshaw Village. We are looking for an innovative Head Chef, with strong motivational and leadership skill, along with the ambition and drive to help us build further on our current success. The Golden Fleece is perfectly located on the A58, just 15 minutes from both Leeds & Bradford. About The Golden Fleece The Golden Fleece is an independent, Free House, Dining Pub. We serve 100% fresh, seasonal food to the highest quality. We pride ourselves on exceeding the expectations of our customers serving contemporary pub food with a twist on classic dishes. As an independent our chefs have full autonomy in the kitchen with both their menus and supply base. As a village pub we strive to be just that and provide a busy inviting village ‘hub’, but at the same time are well located to welcome a vast stream of diners from a broad catchment area. The Role As Head Chef you will be fully responsible for the running and management of the kitchen and its team. You will be creative, innovative and forward thinking with both your menus and technique, but most of all inspiring and motivational to your team. You will be a strong team leader and thrive on training your brigade to the highest standards. You will have a solid career to date working as Head Chef in similar fresh food restaurants or high end dining pubs. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to achieve GP and strive consistently to deliver financial targets and control wastage. You will be able to effectively manage and maintain all food safety and EHO standards and ideally be COSHH & HACCP trained. As an independent establishment our Head Chef has freedom of menu and supply base along with the overall say when it comes to their team. You will also work closely with the owners and the General Manager to ensure that all areas of the business work together. Essential Requirements for Head Chef A minimum of 1 years experience as Head Chef in a similar restaurant or dining pub. Competent in writing innovative menus with fresh locally sourced seasonal produce. Competent in accurate menu costing , with a solid understanding of how to control GP & wastage. Food Hygiene & Health & Safety knowledge & certificates. Ability to prioritise & manage workloads , to effectively cope with pressured & high volume service. A solid understanding of stock management . A passion for sourcing quality fresh produce & management of your supply base. Be a confident, inspirational & motivating leader to your team. Have enthusiasm to empower & develop your team through mentoring & training at all levels. Have an eye for detail & a passion for making dishes look almost as good as they taste. Be a driven individual , always striving to improve & move the business forward. Be passionate about great tasting quality fresh food both in & out of work. Be flexible & display a proactive , ‘Can Do’ attitude. Preferred Attributes A Full Drivers Licence. Previous experience of Wine & Drinks Pairings. Benefits 4.5 Day Week An excellent Salary.
