Overview

My Client is a leading training membership body within the medical profession. They are seeking a Workforce Manager to lead the coordination and delivery of projects to improve the quality and increase the scope of workforce data; including knowledge, data gathering and analysis for internal use. Main Responsibilities: This will be a cross organisation role focusing on planning, leading and implementing new and existing workforce data collection activities to improve workforce data quality Develop effective working relationships with internal College team members at all levels. Liaise with other professional organisations and attend meetings external as required e.g. with the Department of Health and Social Care, Health Education England, NHS Employers and other Royal Colleges and relevant charities. Work with colleagues to plan visits to regional or national events to promote the workforce outputs. Manage the external and internal consultation processes for any project outputs, working with the Head of Communications and Engagement, Policy Researcher and the Clinical Lead as necessary; including producing consultation response summary reports. Deliver agreed workforce guidance projects within scope using recognised project management methodologies, to ensure milestones and deliveries are on track. Including planning and accounting for resources, documenting short to long term objectives and recommendation. Ensure work is methodologically sound and delivered within the governance framework of the business The first project is the cataract workforce guidance project. Developing and implementing relevant organisational surveys and other data gathering work e.g. the Workforce Census, trainee surveys in liaison with relevant internal and external stakeholders. Provide written and verbal reports and updates as required to relevant bodies and personnel including the Vice President, Trustee Board, and Head of Professional Supports Negotiate and monitor contracts of work with external contractors to provide support services key to the success of the project if required. Co-ordinate meetings with external stakeholders and to build and preserve stakeholder relationships. Manage the Workforce Working Group and associated committees including meeting administration, agenda development with the relevant chair, minute taking and follow-up actions. Act as a central point of contact for workforce project coordination issues with both internal and external stakeholders. Person Specification Experience of working with and influencing a wide range of senior stakeholders e.g. clinical decision makers and clinical service providers Experience delivering successful projects Experience of working in role related to NHS service development, commissioning, or workforce planning Experience of appropriately analysing workforce and survey data to produce accurate and concise reports identifying on trends and drawing conclusions, making suggestions for others on how findings might be used Experience using online survey software to design and conduct surveys, analyse and present results Experience of negotiating and managing contracts with external contractors Experience of supporting committees, including minute taking Educated to degree level Knowledge and experience of Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Project This is a fixed term contract of 18 Months. 35 Hours Per Week
