Overview

This SME niche forwarder have a position available on their general export division for an Export Operations Clerk, ideal person will have experience of air exports (multi modal experience would be a bonus). Excellent prospects, great company to work for, all overtime is paid for, 'on call' 1 in 4 weekends on overtime. The Export Operations Clerk who's Main Responsibilities will be; Ensure all export shipments are collected by the correct vehicle, the documentation is in order and it is exported to the client`s satisfaction - Air Sea and Road. Ensure customs entries are completed correctly using the correct CPC code and the entry is scanned to the NES Folder, as well as scanning all relevant Export Documents to file. Complete quotations for new and existing clients - Commercial and Overseas. Understand the urgency of AOG shipments (Aircraft on Ground). Send flight details to the client by Email and ensure the foreign agent is pre-alerted with full details and copy documents. Be on call for AOG at weekends, once trained. (1 in 4) Ascertain the urgency of the shipment and decide the routing accordingly. Liaise with foreign agents on a daily basis. POD the foreign agent on urgent shipments to ensure delivery has been achieved. Ensure NES entry is sent to the shipper with a copy of the HAWB then stored inBoxtop Ensure file is up to-date and ready for charging out. Charge files and Invoice. Liaise with the accounts team regarding client credit agreements andDocuware. Undertake additional duties, or assist other members of staff, as may be reasonably requested by your Manager or the Directors - which may include collections with the vehicle as and when needed. Knowledge, skills and experience required: Essential A full UK driving license. A good knowledge of the English language, both verbal and written. Able to prioritise and organise own workload to tight deadlines. Strong communication skills - the ability to communicate effectively with clients. Able to work as a member of a team in the Export department as required. Sound knowledge of IT – including Word and Excel. Experience of Export Operations. Desirable Knowledge of Boxtop & E Customs (training can be provided). Knowledge of the local area. Compulsory checks: Due to the nature of the role there are a number of compulsory checks that must be carried out. A basic disclosure criminal record check (DBS) carried out by Disclosure and Barring Service. 5-year reference history with gaps in employment scrutinised and accounted for Mon-Friday 9-6/8-5 plus overtime £25-30k dep on experience plus overtime
