Charity Shop Manager Biggleswade, Near Bedford, Bedfordshire About Us Bedford Daycare Hospice has been providing individualised holistic care to patients with life-limiting illnesses for nearly 30 years. Offering the highest standard of specialist, palliative and end of life care, we support patients and their families during the most difficult times of their lives. As an independent charity, we fundraise to support our services, helping patients live their lives to the fullest, and have received The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. We are now looking for a Charity Shop Manager to join our team and oversee our charity shop in Biggleswade, near Bedford. The Role As the Charity Shop Manager, you will oversee the smooth running of our shop, as well as effectively managing our team and volunteers. You will lead and develop the shop team, driving sales, maximising income and providing a high standard of customer service. Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, your role will also involve: - Growing donated income through proactive stock generation, optimum pricing and stock planning - Increasing Gift Aid sales conversions, new donor sign ups and repeat donations - Maintaining high levels of shop presentation through merchandising and housekeeping - Organising fundraising events to promote our charity - Recruiting, training and retaining a team of shop volunteers This role involves handling and lifting stock. About You To join us as a Charity Shop Manager, you will need: - Experience within the retail sector - Previous experience of managing a team and volunteers - Proficient IT skills - At a minimum, GCSE level qualifications (or equivalent) Other organisations may call this role Shop Manager, Branch Manager, Charity Branch Manager, Retail Manager, Store Manager, Retail Sales Manager, or Charity Sales Manager. This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week, 9am – 5:30pm, with weekend work based on an alternating rota.
