Overview

Your Tasks and Responsibilities Managing both the core fleet and sub-contractors to complete deliveries, ensuring service levels are met, with strong communication on specific reports and weekly review meetings with the Customer Analysing Plan v Actual reports to improve fleet efficiency, continually seeking cost improvement methods to improve the overall running of the department Managing production of KPI's for core fleet and customer; Achieving KPI's through effective use of resources and management of staff. Meeting deadlines set by others for submission of KPI and cost management. Providing leadership to direct reports and setting the standards with both targets and behaviours, taking a proactive approach to ensure grievance/disciplinary matters are resolved by adopting a consistent, fair and thorough approach to the analysis of these issues. Controlling sickness/absence through effectve use of policies, procedures and management to ensure that labour turnover and absence levels are kept to a minimum by effective leadership and motivation. Adhering to Driver Regualtions and Drivers Hours Legislation - WTD legislation and Digital tachograph legislation. Monitoring and strictly adhering to tractor and trailer services and MOT's - legal compliances and VOSA demands. Managing and providing training for computerised traffic systems - GTS, Axend and Telematics others that maybe developed in the future. Attending regular meetings with vehicle service providers to ensure cost effective management of provided equipment. Manage the departments H&S operations by use of Positive Behaviours and Intervention, IFR's near miss, hazard spotting and Accident Investigation systems. Carry out Accident Investigations procedures to a high level
