A bit about the role: Based on a 45 hour week working Monday - Friday, you'll be responsible for developing and building efficient routes whilst maximising vehicle capacity, ensuring all work is distributed whilst complying with Transport Legislation, Health & Safety and customer service requirements.Ensuring that the Transport Planners deliver the customer’s products on time and in full using the most cost effective means possible and best use of available resources including maximising the utilisation of Bibby Drivers in line with current driver hours and WTD legislation. A day in the life as a Transport Supervisor Planner might look like: Ensure that your Site Planners plan all relevant customer deliveries utilising the software available at site to ensure delivery windows are met. Through liaising with your Site Planners that you are fully aware of any delays and possible issues with delivery. Liaise with the Customer as required in relation to delays and possible issues with delivery. Develop back haul lanes with both BDL depots and 3rd party customers whilst maintaining fleet utilisation. Source local agency drivers as and when required (in conjunction with our PSL) providing an accurate brief of job required. Source local sub contractors as and when required. Co-ordinate a late load report in line with operational requirements and deadlines. Ensure that Site Planners are aware that the loads meet safety standards. Manage the Site Planners ensuring they are using the most efficient start times. Ensure adequate Pre-Briefing of Drivers is taking place to ensure that they fully understand their instructions. Ensure adequate De-Briefing of Drivers upon their return to ensure that all documentation has been completed correctly. Ensure your Site Planners are compliant with Working Time Directive. Ensure that the Site Planners regularly Download Driver cards for analysis Ensure that the Site Planners Comply with all Transport legislation reducing tachograph infringements to below the company target and adhering to WTD regulations. Ensure that the Site Planners Conduct regular meetings/ reviews including probation assessments and return to work interviews with their drivers. Ensure compliance with Agency Driver checklist. Communicate routes to and liaise with other Bibby Depots Record trailer information on all inbound/outbound deliveries and stand trailers. Fully understand and communicate agreed KPI’s for Department All other transport office related duties What will make you a great fit for this role?
