Professional Indemnity Claims Specialist York We are currently looking for a Professional Indemnity Claims Specialist on behalf of our client, a leading brand in the insurance market with an excellent reputation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to handle a portfolio of Professional Indemnity and D&O claims, and assisting policyholders with any issues they might be facing in their business. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to handle a wide range of claims, improving their business knowledge and negotiation skills, as well as enhancing their technical ability. Responsibilities Proactively handling claims brought against policyholders. Working closely with policyholders and their insurance brokers, explaining how the insurance policy works and how the claim will be resolved in a clear and simple manner. Instructing solicitors, barristers, loss adjusters and other experts to assist in resolving the claims, as required. Keeping the policyholder (and broker where appropriate) informed of the claim status and timeline for resolution. Assisting in the continuous improvement of the company's Casualty & Specialty Portfolio operation. Requirements A qualified Solicitor with 1-3 years PQE or a Legal Executive or Paralegal. Please note if you are part-qualified CILEx, support will provided to complete the qualification. Experience of handling Professional Indemnity or D&O claims is key for the role, either in private practice or at an insurance company. Knowledge of the litigation process and a good technical understanding of the CPR is preferred but not essential. Excellent communication and people skills. A confident individual with drive, ambition and a willingness to learn. Ability to identify opportunities to improve service or processes.
