Overview

IT Asset Manager (Software) Your new company Hays are excited to be working with a large public sector organisation based in the city centre who are seeking an IT Asset Manager to join them on a permanent basis. They are currently going through a transformation programme that will help see the organisation operate by delivering digital, data and technology services from the frontline to the back office creating efficiency throughout and adding to the modern environment. Your new role You will report to the IT Lead Service Manager and you will ensure the software deployment, entitlement, and usage positions are understood and managed. In this role you will also be responsible for the short and long term strategic management of software within the organisation, ensuring users have appropriate software in place to work effectively in respective roles. Above all, the role requires all software deployed across the estate to remain compliant and legal. What you'll need to succeed You will ideally be an IT professional with software asset management experience to lead in this area. Other duties include: Provide regular insights and reporting to key stakeholders around license compliance and usage Develop and maintain working relationships across all business areas ensuring software use is disclosed and controlled Ensure an accurate record of entitlement is maintained Frequently review software deployment and usage to identify and outline potential efficiencies and cost savings Evaluate, select and implement appropriate software asset management tools which compliment the organisations processes Manage the responses to software audit to license validation requests Monthly dashboard reporting for stakeholders Support stakeholders within the business throughout the acquisition and renewal processes Working knowledge of Software Asset Management (SAM) tools and CMDB's (SNOW and Service Now) Excellent writing, presentation and facilitation skills What you'll get in return In return you will get an annual salary of up to £36,674 as well as a fantastic public sector benefits package.
