Overview

We are looking for Emergency Care Assistants that can join us on a Bank agreement. Emergency Care Assistants (ECA) work in a challenging but rewarding role that provides essential support to our qualified clinical practitioners in responding to Accidents, Emergencies and Urgent Care requirements of the public. We are looking for people who can demonstrate our values of Caring – Team Work – Professionalism and Innovation in all they do, so if you have experience of remaining calm under pressure, can demonstrate your caring and compassionate nature and don’t mind working shifts, then we want to hear from you now We are looking for applicants who are: highly motivated passionate about high quality patient care professional trained to drive under blue-light conditions compassionate and able to remain calm under pressure emotionally and physically resilient and a good communicator All we need you to have is: Current ECA or previous ECA experience Full valid UK driving licence including Category C1, with no more than 3 points. The Trust motor insurers would not entertain inclusion of any applicants who had had their driving licence removed following a Dangerous Driving or Drink or Drugs offence for a minimum period of 5 years from when their licence is reinstated. Each case would need to be passed to Trust brokers / insurers in order for the individual circumstances to be taken into account. Emergency Ambulance Driving Level 3 qualification (IHCD or FutureQuals) Helpful tips and useful information If you clearly demonstrate that you meet the essential criteria then we will invite you to an assessment at Newbury. This will include a driving assessment in a larger, manual, van-sized vehicle. Please note that if you are an internal candidate already employed by SCAS and drive for the service we will be checking your internal licence in line with SCAS driving standards and the Trusts CPP V19 driving policy. We will accept up to and including 4 internal penalty points, if you have more than these specified points your application may be withdrawn.
