Associate Cost Manager
Overview
Associate Cost Manager opportunity In Cambridge Your new company Our client are an established consultancy with an office with free parking in Cambridge. You will work directly with a medium sized team and coordinate with a much larger national network of experts to bring projects to close within time and budget. This organisation are currently seeking an Senior or Associate level quantity surveyor to be based in Cambridge. You will be responsible for leading the team whilst delivering projects relating to Universities, Commercial, Residential and Healthcare building projects. Your new role As an Associate Cost Manager you will lead and deliver in all aspects of cost management and quantity surveying from project inception to completion. You will work with a Director to successfully manage and deliver a number of projects, varying in complexity. Our projects typically range in value from £5m - £50m, with some over £250m. You will drive performance standards through expert communication and effective use of the performance management process. Maintain and develop good relationships with clients, take every opportunity to uphold and increase the profile of the firm as a provider of professional, premium quality services to the construction industry. The role will require a passion for first class service delivery, implementing best practice and continuous improvement. You will also be responsible for managing and mentoring junior staff to deliver our Cost Management service efficiently and effectively. What you'll need to succeed As the Associate Cost manager you will need to meet the following requirements. Degree Qualified - BSc or MSc - in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management Professionally Qualified - ideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB or other equivalent institution. Understanding of a variety of project types/sizes/sectors. Education, Healthcare, Science and Commercial sector experience would be advantageous. Understanding of JCT and NEC standard forms of contract Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value and risk, not just cost in isolation.
