Graduate Teaching Assistant - Secondary - North London Are you a recent graduate or are you graduating this summer? Opportunities are for immediate and September starts. Teaching assistants play a vital role in ensuring the equal access to education for all pupils. They can make a real difference to the life chances of young people. Sometimes all it takes is the ability to motivate a young person to learn and to show that you believe in them. In this role, you will: Support a group of students across year groups who have a range of special educational and behavioral needs and learning difficulties. Work closely with the Inclusion Team, teachers and students to differentiate lesson plans, create activities and tasks that are tailored to the students' needs. Work in the classroom, encouraging and motivating pupils to learn and refocusing their attention and engagement. Run small group and 1:1 intervention sessions outside of the classroom. About you You will be a graduate with a strong academic record. Any discipline welcome. You will be seriously considering a career in teaching, educational psychology or youth work. You must be a hardworking, reliable and personable individual with bundles of initiative who's not afraid to get stuck in. You must be patient, approachable and passionate about working with young people and in education. You will provide support to the teacher where needed, organizing teaching and learning resources. This is not a job for the faint-hearted A lot is expected of you and you will learn a lot.
