Snr Frontend React Developer - London £85k basic My client, one of UK's largest award-winning news publisher have launched a new product, and they are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Snr Frontend React Developer to help continue building their fast-growing community platform. This published has reach over 100m monthly unique users and they are constantly expanding their digital portfolio, adopting new technologies and evolving their products to meet changing user needs. Ideally, they are looking for a Frontend or Backend developer with aspirations to become Full Stack is also welcome to apply. Job Introduction As a team, they focus on operating entirely lean, being innovation-driven and rapid innovation. Although the product is relatively new, they are in a high growth phase and looking to grow the team so that they can continue producing new innovative features and to integrate the new product platform into the wider business. Key Responsibilities You will maintain and extend their existing fully isomorphic front end which is built off of a modern React stack consisting of React 16, Flow or Typescript depending on the service, and Webpack 4. You will also help build out their highly performant server-side rendering framework based on AWS LambdaEdge. You will also be involved in back end development mostly consisting of REST API's and AWS Lambda functions, mostly built in Node.js with Redis and DynamoDB as a datastore. You will also have the opportunity, if you show an aptitude for it, to get involved in native app development (React Native) and/or machine learning (Python). The Ideal Candidate You need to be fluent in React and Javascript, with commercial experience in building applications with either NodeJS, vanilla JS or any Frontend JS frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Vue). They use AWS extensively, and they provision their own resources (using Cloudformation), so some knowledge of AWS will help. They expect to mentor you in this aspect though.
