Overview

Our Client is looking for a Shift Maintenance Engineer / Fitter based in Belvedere: The overall purpose of the role is to maintain PPM’s, respond quickly to breakdowns, and carry out repair work to the highest standards of workmanship. Work within the Engineering team towards best practise and communicate with production department. Rotating shift 5am to 2pm and 1pm to 10pm, 1 week rotating shift 39hours p/w. Maintenance – Carryout Planned preventative maintenance (PPM), follow maintenance plan for all machinery and auxiliary equipment whilst keeping paper work up to date. Repair and maintain serviceable valves and spares always ensuring stock levels are correct. Ensure machine is isolated and locked off using a padlock before commencing work. Complete a visual check of machine for any other faults or potential problems. Leave machine in a good tidy condition. Report any faults to either the engineering supervisor or works manager. · Breakdowns – Be quick to respond to breakdowns as instructed by production, carry out pre-checks to identify fault. Be confident in your diagnosis of Pneumatic, hydraulic and process functions. Communicate to production supervisor time scales to carry out repair, down time being the priority, in some cases your own tea breaks my need to wait until machine is back on and running. Carry out all welding and fabrication repairs safely using all PPE equipment provided. · Plant & Services – At the beginning of your shift ensure all plant and services are correct and the factory has the adequate amount of services for machines running, carry out boiler checks. · Call outs – Be available during your callout rota and communicate via company phone provided. · Holiday/sick cover on the production line – Provide cover within the engineering department in the event of an absence and other Engineering team members, shifts may change accordingly. Additional Responsibilities · Maintain a high level of technical product understanding and from information gathered on site be able to report industry changes, competitor activity, trends, news and fluctuations back to the business. · Embrace all company values, policies, procedures and business ethics codes and demonstrate them within all daily activity. · Communicate at all levels within the business to ensure the customers’ expectations are exceeded in all that we do. · Plan, prioritise and self-manage daily activity to be as efficient and effective as possible within this role. · The individual must have the right of residence and to work in the UK. They should be located within the specified territory. · In depth knowledge and practical hands on experience in a Production environment. · Health and Safety awareness. · Professional, friendly and resourceful approach and strength of character. · Sound organisational and administrative abilities, and the ability to self-manage and plan a working week. · Initiative led, driven and motivated, with a high level of commitment to customer satisfaction. · Good written and verbal communication skills.
