THE OPPORTUNITY: Great Opportunity to join a well-established and growing business who are at the forefront of their chosen field. My Client is looking for a Senior Design Engineer who will be responsible for heading up and delivering design and engineering support activities. THE ROLE & YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: The key responsibilities of the role will be to organise your own and the wider design teams activities for all design and R&D work in line with contract requirements. You will work closely with the Sales & Marketing team to guarantee the future needs of customers, markets and products are fully comprehended and products fully reflect the functional and technical specifications set out. You will work alongside the Operations Team to ensure all calculations, Technical information and any other data retaining to the project are detailed and filed correctly in the appropriate folder. Liaising with customers, suppliers and technical personnel Provide training in house to up skill team members This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities and the role is a multi-faceted and varied position and you will need to be flexible to help out in any way the business needs dictate. EXPERIENCE SOUGHT IN THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE: Qualifications & Technical skill required: Degree in Mechanical Engineering Standalone Design Management experience working to a high level on multiple engineering designs Understanding of fundamental principles behind design decisions gained in industrial/automation environment in special purpose machinery, bespoke and turnkey engineering solutions, e.g.: DFM and DFA Engineering Design and analytical skills, e.g. DFMEA, calculations using engineering standards. Person Specification: Excellent communicator with strong written, verbal and visual communication style. Innovative, creative thinker with the ability to design bespoke turnkey and standard products Ability to work and contribute in a team environment.
