Business Services Manager Central London 60K 1 year FTC Working for one of the top 10 companies in the UK, I have an amazing opportunity for an interim Business Service Manager. You will be responsible for the overall management of the Business Services staff (50 – 100 staff) and will encourage active employee engagement, resulting in enthusiastic and passionate employees who are committed to the role that they operate in. You will take a proactive approach to employee development, creating a productive, highly-skilled workforce who are operating at optimum levels and are provided with the tools, resources and appropriate opportunities to stretch beyond this. Strong stakeholder engagement is needed, you will need to maintain lines of communication with leaders within your business are and across the business within the UK and UKIMEA. Activities will include: Management of all business services staff (encompassing PAs, team coordinators, marketing and business development) including: Appraisals, salary reviews, promotions, nominating and approving training requests, performance management. Monitoring of staff movements and headcount; recruitment, delegating as necessary to other hiring managers; advising on salary ranges. Managing resources and monitoring workloads Staff welfare and pastoral care Liaison with other parties (including HR/Finance/H&S/FM/BSMs) on issues that impact the business area and its staff. Monitoring and advising on accommodation needs and costs in London; potential involvement in a large scale office move. Accountable for headcount and costs of business support staff. Financial admin for the business area cost centres, including preparation of Annual Business Plan and budgets; monitoring budgets; approval of timesheets, expense claims and supplier invoices Liaison and collaboration with other business heads including regular meetings and involvement in national initiatives. To achieve this you will have : Have a proven record of an ability to develop strong internal relationships at a senior level and a willingness to continue to build on this Demonstrate solid experience of working in a complex environment, where relationship building is critical to success Possess excellent influencing skills and use these to foster good relationships with senior stakeholders in the firm Have excellent communication skills and be able to assess most appropriate form of communication to influence outcomes Bring a flexible approach to problem solving, balancing policy, best practices and legal and business issues to provide pragmatic solutions Identify options in difficult situations and recommend appropriate ways forward Be sensitive to and manage reputational and ethical issues/risks Challenge existing working practices and suggest improvements Have experience in managing change Assist with planning future resourcing needs Possess solid experience of operating in a leadership role This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89666572
