Handyperson, HMP Huntercombe, full time, ongoing temporary Your new company HMP Huntercombe are looking to recruit a handyperson to work within there maintenance team. Your new role As part of the Works Department you will be responsible for both reactive repairs and planned and preventative maintenance. HMP Huntercombe is a large prison which is particularly busy and requires additional staff to support the Works department. The Maintenance role is in a unique working environment with a strong sense of team working. Always in demand, you could benefit from long-term contracts and there is also potential, once trained, to work in other prisons both locally and nationally. You must be local to the prison or have your own transport. As a handy person you will be required to assist other trades onsite such as plumbers, carpenter, painters etc. As well as working alone in completing DIY jobs on site. We are looking for someone who has experience in a similar role and a strong DIY background. What you'll need to succeed Full training on working within a prison is provided by the establishment/ department. Security Clearance required: All applicants will be subject to the HM Prison Service Security Clearance procedure which can take up to 6 weeks, this can include a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check. You must hold a Valid Passport or Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence in your current address. All applicants must be able to provide details of 2 satisfactory references, at least one from an ex-employer.
