Overview

Application Engineer We are representing our business partner to find a superb candidate to join their experienced team of four product and applications engineers. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with working to deadlines, results-driven and with a deep interest in helping customers by providing High quality, technically optimised fluid power and mechanical solutions. While office-based, this is a customer interactive role, with significant time spent daily communicating with customers. Opportunities to visit customer sites as part of a technical & commercial team will become more common as the candidate’s experience and skills develop, as well as some opportunity for international travel to other sites for training and development. Key Responsibilities: Acting as a key technical liaison between manufacturer and customer accounts. Producing Technical Selections, quotations / sales proposals. Applications engineering – Reviewing a customer application and offering complete supply of fluid power & potentially mechanical products to a system utilising industry leading product range. Technical support to customers and end-users from enquiry stage through to delivery, installation & operation. Direct communication with Engineering and Purchasing teams within customer accounts. Contract reviews, Technical handover to Production & project kick-off meetings to ensure the specification is correct prior to supply. Real-time liaison & technical and commercial assessment of supply chain. Small modifications to standard product in order to replace competitor or obsolete products. Key Requirements: Comfortable with basic calculations & formulae (BODMAS). Degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or similar. Broad knowledge of hydraulic products & applications. Technical selection experience from application or product data. Experience in Understanding & Ideally drawing hydraulic circuits. Knowledge of ERP systems. Technical report writing.
