Overview

Private Markets Accountant Key Accountabilities: The Private Markets Accounting team is responsible for the operational and financial control, accounting and financial reporting of the private equity/property assets. The team manages the day-to-day finance and operational activities of the private equity and property portfolios. o Manage cash payments and receipts o Responsible for accounting for transactions in the property and PE portfolios. o Responsible for booking quarterly PE and Property valuations in the accounting systems o Responsible for the medium-term cash forecast for PE and Property. o Responsible for tax related matters with regards the Private Markets portfolio including ensuring the fund's compliance with PE tax filing requirements. o A key stakeholder in relationships with a number of key suppliers. In this role you will be responsible for cultivating a positive relationship with the Property and Private Equity investment teams. Key Challenges: The scope of responsibilities is broad and requires an ability to balance business objectives against operational risks. The private equity industry is constantly changing with new regulations and reporting requirements evolving. It is important to stay up to date with these. The post-holder will be expected to challenge current processes and standards and to develop new standardised techniques or approaches to improve the efficiency of the processes. Experience and Job Requirements: Ideally you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), with experience working in the investment management industry, preferably with experience of alternative assets Able to challenge current processes and standards and to develop new standardised techniques or approaches to improve the efficiency of the processes Previous experience of Private I and SAP BW useful
