Registered Nurse Band 5– Elective Care Division: General Surgery & Trauma and Orthopaedics Full time/Part time vacancies available An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the friendly, hardworking and dedicated teams in General Surgery and Trauma & Orthopaedics within the Elective Care Division at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for self-motivated, enthusiastic applicants with a keenness for learning and the ability to adapt to change. E3 is a 25 bedded male and female surgical ward specialising in caring for both male and female patients undergoing planned surgery and those admitted with acute surgical conditions. Our colorectal patients are part of the enhanced care pathway with the support from the colorectal MDT team. We offer surgical training with the specialist nurses such as stoma care, open abdomen wound management, pain management and total parental nutritional management. E4 is an acute general surgical ward caring for both male and female patients. We pride ourselves on excellent standards in all aspects of the patient journey. We are friendly and welcoming and value team work as an integral part of the nursing approach. With an emphasis on developing staff through continuing professional development plans, working with our dedicated practice educator team. F3 is a busy acute Surgical Assessment Unit with 25 beds caring for both male & female patients. We care for patients that are acutely ill and are admitted directly from the Emergency Department and the Ambulatory Care Unit. Patients are also sent directly to F3 from their GP for urgent assessment. Staff will be trained with the knowledge & skills to manage and care for this acutely unwell group of patients. G3 is a male Orthopaedic ward caring for patients with a range of Orthopaedic conditions. The ward comprises 18 beds within the main ward and 6 Trauma Stabilisation beds. Our Trauma Stabilisation Unit caters for our more acutely unwell pre and post-operative patients who require a higher level of both medical and nursing care. G4 is a female Trauma and Orthopaedic ward that mirrors the footprint and care provision of G3 and is therefore similarly divided between 18 beds on the main ward and 6 in the female Trauma Stabilisation Unit. G5 is a 16 bedded protected elective ward which cares for all orthopaedic elective patients.
