Overview

Senior System Admininstrator - 3rd Line -Operations - BAU - Wintel Our client, a financial services firm based in the City of London are looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to join them on a permanent basis. The role is paying £55,000-65,000. The Senior System Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day management, operation and maintenance of the IT infrastructure (e.g. data centres, servers, storage, cloud) for this global business. Working within a global team of up to 10 and supporting a user base of 3500. You will be a strong Wintel System Administrator possessing high level communications skills and will be happy working in a BAU team/ role. Technical requirements: At least 5 years working in an Infrastructure Operations Team. Experience of working in companies going through significant change. Practical knowledge of ITIL application processes and implementation, preferably knowledge with Service Now. Knowledge of server operating systems, with emphasis on Microsoft Windows, including domain structures, Active Directory, system administration, and Windows Terminal Server. Knowledge of Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop. Sound working knowledge of VMWare, looking for 3-5 years plus knowledge and building and maintaining Virtual environments. PowerShell scripting Skills, automation and Scheduling skills Server Hardening and vulnerability patching skills including using SCCM and other patching tools. Experience of working with and managing O365 & MDM Solutions – nice to have. Strong problem solving skills Useful: Systems Administration/System Engineer certifications in either Microsoft (Exchange 2010, O365 Administration SQL 2012/2016), VMware (VCP), Citrix (XenApp), Azure/ AWS Experience with industry leading Monitoring tools such as SCOM and AppDynamics would also be advantageous. Knowledge of Infrastructure hardware including hyperconverged technologies and traditional 3 tier. Knowledge of EMC products – EMC VNX, Data Domain and Avamar.
