Overview
Smart Solutions have an excellent opportunity within the Environmental Science sector. This role would suit a newly qualified graduate or an existing environmental or leachate technician. Essentially, the purpose of this role will be to undertake the safe and effective monitoring, process control and optimisation of the leachate collection, treatment and disposal from a busy landfill site. The main duties for the leachate technician will include : 1. To safely and effectively monitor, operate and maintain leachate management assets across the region such that regulatory compliance requirements are fulfilled (including requirements set out in Environmental Permits and Trade Effluent Discharge Consents) 2. To carry out monitoring, analysis, record keeping and reporting (as necessary) on the status of leachate management assets and associated equipment such that process control and health is optimised and regulatory requirements discharged. 3. To be responsible for the upkeep and calibration of all plant, equipment and tools used in monitoring, operation and maintenance of leachate management assets in line with routine and planned preventative maintenance schedules. 4. To undertake inspection of leachate management assets and raise work orders for maintenance and repairs when required. 5. Ensure that all reporting within the Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is effective and accurately completed after each task. 6. To adhere to operational standards, processes and procedures for the management of leachate at the Company's operational and closed landfill sites in the region. 7. Supervise and control internal and external personnel (including contractors and agency staff) working on leachate management assets. 9. To participate in a call out rota to provide cover for work that is required at the weekends and outside of normal working hours. A full UK drivers license is essential.
