Company: Ashfield Position: Nurse Advisor Location: Doncaster Vacancy: Permanent - 37.5hours per week, Monday to Saturday (possible 12 hour shifts) Salary: Competitive Ashfield Healthcare are looking to recruit Nurse Advisors with experience in the Respiratory arena. The Nurse role will be to complete lung health checks including spirometry in a defined adult population at risk of Lung Cancer. This is an early detection programme and works in collaboration with NHS initiatives. The role will involve identification of at-risk patients from GP practices, supporting with the referral for the Screening programme the actual screening service will be conducted in mobile screening units at pre agreed sites with Doncaster CCG and will move at agreed time periods. It is planned that nurses will support the sites and travel to these locations. Experience of working in a radiology environment would be desirable but not essential. A full training and onboarding programme is in place for successful candidates. This is a fast pace role supporting many patients daily. Key Responsibilities: Assist General practitioners (GP) in primary care to identify patients who are deemed at risk of potential lung cancer Liaison with the HCP team within the practice to support patients who require smoking cessation and or referral to the lung screening project Perform lung health checks (in the mobile unit) on those patients identified within Primary Care Referral to the onsite Radiology team for LD CT, as per pathway guidelines Essential Skills: Registered Nurse (Active NMC Pin) Experience working in the field of Respiratory Flexible and able to adapt to challenging circumstances Strong team work ethic Willing to work long shifts i.e. 12-hour days Spirometry, COPD and Asthma diplomas (desirable) IT literate Car driver, or easy access to lung health check venues Background Ashfield is a fast-paced place to work where you will be highly valued.
