Overview

Purpose of the role: Working within one of the best known and admired brands in the UK, you will join as Business Support Analyst to provide a one stop solution and consultation for staff to resolve support issues, queries and request systems innovation in order to maximise revenue opportunities and operational efficiencies. Role includes: • This role is designed to free up the IT Infrastructure Manager to deliver improvements of the IT systems & services • Help maintain an acceptable level of performance and availability for all business systems • Working face to face with all users, including directly with company directors • First line support & contact point for IT queries • Diagnose and resolve problems quickly, possessing excellent inter-personal skills • Liaising with 3rd party suppliers to facilitate the resolution of support issues through managed services • Occasional travel to remote sites. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Delivering ongoing maintenance, administration and end user support of the entire IT estate across 3 locations • Working face to face with end users to understand their requirements, deliver solutions that meet those requirements, raise opportunities for innovation & deliver the appropriate training for IT systems and services to user base • Work with external vendors where necessary to deliver requirements • Administering spam, malware and phishing countermeasures such as Mimecast • Procurement of new hardware including mobile technology, laptops, PCs, monitors, setting up new users • Setup and maintenance of all PCs, laptops and mobile devices for all users • Help with delivering IT Documentation, documenting resolutions to reported problems & systems delivered • Implement systems changes in a controlled risk averse manner. Desirable skills & experience: • Proven experience as a Business Support Analyst, on well-developed networks • Microsoft Server Platform including Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft SQL Server administration • Experience of highly available virtualised infrastructures & DR Requirements. • Knowledge of infrastructure hardware, software, security & best practices • Proven knowledge of LAN/WAN/WLAN networking • WSUS & Update/Patch management • UPS & Power management • Experience supporting the IT requirements of a working from home policy • In depth client OS knowledge; Windows & Mac OS • Experience using call logging software and working to SLA’s • Experience administering: o Veeam Backup & Replication o Network switches, fibre and copper cabling up/down links o cloud hosted and on-premise servers and services o VLANs o Storage Area Networks (SANs) o public DNS record management o Firewalls: Routing, Rules, NAT, High Availability setups, VPNs, QoS, load balancing o Telecoms systems o Mobile devices and MDM solutions o Linux environments o Video conference facilities.
