School of Business and Management Lecturer in Business and Society (Teaching and Scholarship) – QMUL21734 (Salary range £42,433 - £52,833 per annum) The School of Business and Management (SBM) seek to recruit an inspirational teacher and educational leader to a Lectureship in Business and Society. Experienced candidates with a strong university teaching record are encouraged to apply. Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) QMUL was placed 9th in the UK among multi-faculty institutions in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework. It is the fourth largest college in the University of London and is growing rapidly. QMUL is a highly internationalised university, but with deep roots and continuing engagement with East London communities. School of Business and Management The School of Business and Management is one of the eight schools in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The School has been undergoing a period of rapid growth, doubling our number of academic staff over the last five years. We presently have 85 academic staff. We have over 1200 undergraduate business studies students plus approximately 600 students taking business in combination with other degree subjects within QMUL. At the post-graduate level we have approximately 600 MSc students and a well-established doctoral programme of around 70 doctoral students. SBM’s core purpose is to promote social justice, sustainability and good governance in the management of private, public and voluntary organisations through our research and education. We are a distinctive School that takes a humanities and social science led approach to our scholarship, and are now the largest school within QMUL’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), with its traditional strengths as a site of critical thinking in the humanities, law, history, geography and politics. For more information, please see https://www.qmul.ac.uk/busman/departments/department-of-business-and-society/ Lecturer in Business & Society (Teaching and Scholarship) As a Lecturer, you will lead and deliver modules in business and society, ethics and business, local business environments on the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and provide supervision for dissertation projects within the Department of Business and Society. You will have completed a doctorate (or have a doctorate under examination) in a relevant subject. The successful applicant will have the ability to demonstrate a good understanding of practice as well as a commitment to cross-disciplinary learning and research-based teaching. We are looking for someone with a keen interest and expertise in new methods of pedagogical engagement suited to our particular and diverse cohorts of students. We also appreciate expertise in engagement of large numbers of students and how to deliver successful pedagogy working with large cohorts.
