Overview

Role: Senior Construction Underwriter - Strategic Partnerships Location: London City Job type: Permanent Industry: Insurance Job Purpose:- ·The job-holder will provide technical underwriting capability to the Strategic Partnership Team to deliver underwriting services to both Client Companies and MGA's in line with the company's underwriting philosophy and technical standard. The job-holder will have technical excellence in :- ·CAR & PL Annual and Project Insurances ·Machinery Breakdown and Business Interruption Insurances ·Machinery Inherent Defects Insurance ·Computer Insurance Key Responsibilities: Deliver high quality underwriting services to the Strategic Partnership Team Achieve target loss ratios through high quality portfolio management, individual risk selection and pricing utilising proactive account reviews and analysis of underwriting trends Obtain growth and new business against insurance product lines in line with the Strategic Partnership Team's target Manage underwriting relationship with designated Strategic Partners to deliver profitable growth Large risk underwriting and referrals from Strategic Partners Analysis of the Strategic Partnerships account, it's segments and coverages with a view to making recommendations to refine / modify pricing Pricing of portfolios in respect of all company strategic products Referral point for Delegated Authority CAR business Act as the referral point for Underwriters, Assistant Underwriters and Strategic Partners coaching individuals to make decisions within their empowerment whilst providing technical and trading input to improve the quality of underwriting decisions Involvement in the signing off of Insurer / MGA wordings and the associated material (key facts, summaries of cover) Review of contractual documentation e.g. TOBA's Treaties, Binding Authorities and Underwriting and Procedure manuals Work with the Strategic Partnership Underwriting Manager and wider team to deliver the team and department's performance goals Provide input to training and development programmes developed by Underwriting Strategy and Standards Presentations to Strategic Partners to support development staff where required Ensure company service standards are met and exceeded Ensure company compliance and control systems are adhered to Assist the Strategic Partnerships Underwriting Manager in completion of audits / annual business reviews and Field Underwriting Reviews Assist and support existing projects e.g. Guidewire.
