Overview
We are recruiting seasonal Grounds Maintenance Operatives for grounds maintenance teams for the Spring/Summer season. These are temporary positions, however there are opportunities to become permanent after a successful qualifying period. The focus of the role will be to help maintain and improve the standard of gardens, highway verges, municipal parks and open spaces. The successful applicants will need to have good customer service skills and will be undertaking all aspects of amenity/sports turf maintenance, keeping areas tidy and free from debris/litter, lining pitches, shrub/tree pruning, hedge cutting and weed spraying. Previous work experience of this nature would be advantageous, however, full training will be given. As part of a team, the working hours will be 7.00am/7.30am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday with some weekend overtime being offered at an enhanced rate. Applicants must hold a full driving licence with a maximum of 3 penalty points due to insurance purposes. You will have to pass a driving assessment prior to starting. If you hold a PA1 and PA6 certificate this would also be beneficial but not essential.
