Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Support Worker, to support adults with learning disabilities and autism and become a valued member of the team for small supported living services in Northallerton. This service supports adults with learning disabilities and autism to be as independent as possible, encouraging active participation in various social activities. This Support Worker role requires a valid UK driving licence This is a fantastic opportunity, for a Support Worker, who is a caring individual, and passionate about providing an excellent level of care to individuals, to support service users to develop confidence and independence. The service users take part in a wide range of activities, including sport and leisure, and this service welcomes a support worker who is passionate about supporting service users in attending activities and events. My client is a registered charity, with an excellent reputation for providing person centred care to adults with learning disabilities and autism to be as independent as possible, leading interesting and fulfilling lives. This professional organisation provide full training and ongoing support for progression. The higher salary range highlighted includes some sleep over shifts. Role : Supporting adults in a supported living setting with learning disabilities and autism Provide support with everyday tasks such as preparing and eating meals, attending appointments, budgeting, shopping. To ensure person centred care is provided, care plans are followed and updated and CQC standards are met. Encouraging individuals to partake in social and community events, sport such as swimming, bowling, hobbies, day trips, short holidays, support in going to the cinema, theatre, meals in restaurants, pubs and social evenings. Administering medication Skills / Qualifications : Ideally have NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate with residents, team members and other professionals such as social workers. Ability to listen and motivate individuals to partake in hobbies, learning development and social events to help them lead fulfilling and independent lives.
