Overview

Medical Director UK & Ireland - Based Marlow or Edinburgh Up to £150k basic plus Car allowance, bonus and other benefits. Lead the Medical Affairs function for all activities involving the UK and Ireland commercial operation. This includes leading key medical activities in the UK and Ireland related to the company’s marketed and pre-launch product portfolio, with overall leadership of medical and scientific input into the strategy, tactics and operations associated with commercialising the company’s products. • Lead and manage the Medical Affairs function for the UK and Ireland • Work in cooperation with Clinical, Regulatory, Quality Assurance, International Medical Affairs and International Marketing to develop strategic plans for the business • Act as point of reference on medical issues for our client products for the UK and Ireland • Provide medical, scientific and technical approval of promotional material and activities in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and codes of practice • Contribute to life cycle management for the existing product portfolio, and support the commercial development of the product pipeline in the UK and Ireland • Work with commercial colleagues to establish or enhance partnerships with key academic institutions and develop professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders • Provide support and advice to sales teams in the UK and Ireland • Work with the marketing team to provide medical advice in the development of new marketing campaigns • Provide medical expertise for, and participate in, Advisory Boards involving external healthcare professionals About you • Medically qualified and GMC registered, ideally with some post-graduate qualification or specialisation, OR a GPhC registered Pharmacist with significant relevant experience in Medical Affairs • Extensive experience leading a Medical Affairs Department within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries including work as a Final Medical Signatory in the UK essential • Medical Affairs experience in other northern European countries preferred • Sound understanding of the UK medical marketing environment • Knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements as applied to product promotion, safety surveillance, and product development • Proven ability in collaborating with commercial functions • Well-developed management and leadership skills Benefits • Pension scheme • Private medical insurance • Other voluntary benefits include: Childcare Vouchers, Employee Assistance Programme This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89828505
