Overview

Location: Burnley Days & Hours: Part-Time hours to include: 8:45pm to 8:00am on two evenings per week Ad hoc hours as and when required according to the needs of the client, including early mornings, afternoons as well as nights and days at weekends and during the school holidays. Pay: £9.00 per hour Weekdays and £11.00 per hour Weekends. £NLW per hour for sleeping nights. Pay rates to be reviewed after successful completion of probation period or equivalent period. Driver required: Essential (will need own car to get to work) Driving Clients Car: Yes, our client's Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (WAV), automatic Using Own Vehicle for work purposes: To attend training Essential Experience: Previous experience of working with children/young adults with Cerebral Palsy. Desirable: Experience working with children/young adults with trauma and an interest in therapy Pets: 2 dogs Accommodation (while on duty): Fully adapted family home, with separate Carer's entrance and Carer's own kitchen facilities. Interviews Week Commencing: As and when applications are received Start Date: ASAP or date (subject to satisfactory employment checks) Larry, born in 2003, is a very sociable young man with a good sense of humour who lives at home with his family. He attends a special school 5 days a week and is a very keen football supporter of Burnley FC; he likes to go to watch a match whenever he can. He enjoys playing computer games and watching TV, particularly Sky Sports. He also enjoys listening to music, and likes to listening to music when he is getting ready for bed and getting dressed in the morning. Larry has Cerebral Palsy, and is severely physically disabled, however he is very bright. He is dependent in all daily living activities and requires a high level of assistance to undertake these. This role is to work within his current team to provide Larry with support (including personal care) and assistance with his college work and leisure activities. You will also be expected to implement daily therapeutic programmes designed to promote his development by his team of Therapists, and have a general role in promoting his learning, care and independence both at home and outside.
