Overview
We are recruiting for a permanent full time Accounting Technician to join our highly regarded client based in Birmingham. The purpose of this role is to provide a superb service that will delight all customers and stakeholders. Our client has access to some parking but is also easily accessible vie the cross city train line. Accounting Technician Responsibilities: Extracting data from invoices and posting on Receipt Bank, Xero or Excel spreadsheets, ensuring where appropriate VAT is correctly accounted for Posting invoices from Receipt Bank to Xero and matching to cash payments from bank Creating and processing manual journals Reconciling bank accounts and cash coding transactions in Xero Communicating with clients under supervision of seniors for any transactional related queries (by email & telephone) and then processing in accordance with client response Self-reviewing work undertaken by reviewing (P&L / Balance sheet / Trial Balance) and correcting entries as required Preparing VAT Return reports for review by Senior Preparing end of month payroll for all clients for review by Senior Generating payroll reports Filling payroll reports Assisting with payroll queries Assisting with HMRC queries Accounting Technician Profile: GCSE’s/A-Levels/AAT Level 2 At least 1 year of bookkeeping experience (essential) Experience of working with Xero (essential) Experience of working with Receipt Bank (desirable) Keen interest to use/learn software and systems operated in the business as appropriate Ability to work to deadlines and to be flexible as regards the hours and assignments worked Ability to prioritise own workload Able to oversee a small number of clients and be responsible for the day to day bookkeeping/payroll under supervision of the Client Manager and Senior Accountant Ability to communicate openly and build up excellent relationships with colleagues and clients Please note due to responses we can only respond to successful candidates which will be within 48 hours of your application.
