Overview

Our client, a growing Consulting firm are looking for a Payroll person to help run their payroll. The role will require someone to have good communication skills and experience in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience of handling PAYE payroll. The business has a sociable and friendly working environment which allows people to be creative and thrive. This is a newly created role within their finance team and will offer the chance to an experienced Payroller to get involved in process and systems improvement whilst collaborating with a CFO and Ops team to set up a new payroll function. Responsibilities: Running weekly payroll for around 400 staff Continuous improvement of internal processes and systems to increase efficiency Setting up new workers / starters Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion with contractors Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy Handling queries over the phone Managing e-mailed requests/queries received into the Inbox from staff/consultants and third parties Processing Tax Forms/Student Loans /P45 requests and P45 clean up Calculate statutory payments, such as maternity, paternity and sick pay. Resending/confirming receipt of timesheets on an adhoc basis Key Performance Indicators Accuracy of work Speed of work - using to working to numerous deadlines Punctuality & Work ethic Process driven individual Strong technical understanding of PAYE payroll Qualifications Previous experience essential and typical qualifications may include: Good Payroll knowledge Previous experience which demonstrates numeracy and literacy skills.
