Overview
Heavy Plant Fitter / Maintenance As a Heavy Plant Fitter / Maintenance you will be working on a busy and fast paced site, repairing, servicing and conducting preventative maintenance of a variety of fixed and mobile heavy plant equipment and machinery. You may have worked in the following industries: Quarrying, Aggregates Composting, Anaerobic Digestion, Landfill, MRF, Plastic, Metal, Waste Management, Recycling, Manufacturing, Processing, Fabrication, Water Utilities, Power Plant, Wood. PREVIOUS TITLES (not exhaustive): Heavy Plant Fitter, Maintenance Technician, Mechanical Engineer, Plant Technician, Service Engineer. ROLE: Heavy Plant Fitter - Recycling Plant In this position, you will undertake some repairs of HGVs yet mainly fixed and mobile plant equipment. Your duties will include: Repairing and servicing skip loaders, hook lifts, loading shovels, shredders, trommels, crushers, screeners, grabbers, excavators, forklifts and telehandlers Completing preventative maintenance on engines, motors and all moving parts Working with operations manuals, diagrams and sketches Ensuring that health and safety standards are complied with Advising the Management Team on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous Recording detailed and accurate repairs information relating to repair inspections or completed repair jobs What will I need to be considered for this Heavy Plant Fitter / Maintenance role? Proven experience working in a similar Heavy Plant / Mechanical Engineer role Experience of working on fixed and mobile plant equipment Perseverance and a dedicated approach to getting the job done Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure Superb interpersonal skills with ability to communicate at all levels Excellent problem solving and organisational skills Flexibility towards tasks Experience of working with hydraulics would be advantageous, although not essential You will be required to service mobile and fixed plant equipment on- site. EXPERIENCE: Heavy Plant Fitter - Recycling Plant Experience as a Heavy Plant Fitter / Mechanical Engineer / Multi-skilled Mechanical Maintenance Fitter / Maintenance Technician or related is essential. You will have gained experience working on fixed and mobile plant equipment. Experience of working with hydraulics would be beneficial. Monday to Friday 07:30am - 5.30pm plus alternate Saturday mornings - 7.00-12.30 Up to £34,000 benefits
