Support Workers for SEMH home's in Bristol

Overview
Axcis are recruiting for support workers to work in different houses across Bristol with teenagers with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health issues). There are six houses across Bristol and the teenagers live in groups of 2-6. There is the opportunity to do various shift patterns such as earlies, lates, long days, sleep ins and waking nights. The rotas come out a month in advance so you will be able to choose which shifts you have in advance and there is the opportunity to do regular shifts each week. The teenagers all come from foster care; most have experienced abuse and trauma and many present with challenging behaviour. This role suits someone who is sensitive and compassionate. You will need to remain calm and unfazed by challenging behaviour and be able to be a positive role model to the young people you're supporting. We're looking for consistent and reliable staff who are experienced in working with children or adults with special needs. Ideally you will have health and social care qualifications such as the diploma and safeguarding. You will need to be able to build trust and rapport with the teenagers quickly. To work in these homes you will need to come in for a one hour registration meeting and we will need you to have a valid DBS in place and a minimum of two references. Axcis can offer competitive rates of pay starting at £10.20 an hour and £11.50 for waking nights. We pay every week on a Friday a week in arrears. This is a temporary position.
