Overview
The role of Allocator is controlling the allocation and replenishment processes to ensure that the optimum levels of stock are achieved in all stores per product & size, within the department. Assisting the line manager, with the attainment of the maximum trading profitability, whilst operating within the department stock targets. This requires the preparation of key analysis administration of the commitment file and purchase order entry and effective communication with stores and suppliers whilst gaining an understanding of how successful merchandising is conducted. Allocation & Replenishment Ensure that initial allocations set up in a proactive manner, and meet the planning parameters. Ensure that the line level allocation of stock levels meets the departments’ plan, for all new stores. Monitoring and control of store sales / stock levels by instigating and replenishment requirements. Manage the replenishment program to ensure that stock builds are met for seasonal highs and lows. Ensure that the stores core & key lines are fully supported by effective replenishment. Highlight any out of stock issues of key lines to the merchandiser. Implement effective liaison with stores to resolve any stock related issues. Coordinate excess stock reports and issue transfer instruction. Implement the consolidation of stocks as designated by the line manager. Obtain information on product areas, direct from stores, in order to improve distribution. Develop a sound knowledge of the unique trading patterns of each store / profile. Purchasing & Supplier Management Maintain and prepare the raising of purchase orders for the Merchandiser to review and authorise. Develop the required communication with suppliers and internal departments. Control the delivery schedules, production reports, availability and the commitment files. Conduct the necessary analysis to determine the timeliness and completeness of deliveries. Sales Forecasting Management Assist with the compilation of the supporting analysis for section levels sales forecasts. Gain an understanding of sales, stock and markdowns management. Promotional Management Assist with the updating of the price file, in an accurate and timely manner. Manage the relevant systems to ensure that all store stock levels are met. Ensure that line levels / store replenishment, is effectively maintained. Assist with the meeting of planned promotional deadlines. Assist with the preparation of any relevant analysis. Gain an understanding of how successful promotions are implemented and managed. Merchandise & Range Planning Assist with the preparation of all the supporting analysis, especially colour & size details. Develop an understanding of the requirements of Merchandise planing. Store Stock Planning Assist with the necessary analysis that supports the setting of the store monthly stock targets. Supplier Strategy Management Prepare, as required, the analysis that supports the compiling of the department supplier strategy.
