Overview

An award winning, leading pharmaceutical company based in the Hampshire area are looking for a Senior Buyer to join their growing procurement/clinical trials team as they continue on their success journey. The Company They currently are working to dominate the global healthcare landscape and are experts in accessing and supplying medicines across the global supplier base. Senior Buyer Reporting to the Global Procurement Director, this role is focussed on profitability, will own regional/local sourcing strategies, ensuring the right suppliers are selected and relationships managed to source and deliver the right products, at the right (most competitive) prices, from the right countries, to the right places at the right time. Effecting quote to order conversion rates; high order success rates; and ultimately contributing to exceptional customer service. Other responsibilities include: Sourcing products to identify which countries the requested products are available in ensuring that customer product specifications are matched. Perform analysis to evaluate product market sizes to determine which countries to prioritise sourcing efforts; and market prices to be able to effectively negotiate prices with suppliers. Supplier selection in accordance with the Global Procurement Strategy Supplier management ensuring strong relationships are developed and maintained leading to strong product access, competitive prices and reliable supply in accordance with customer requirements and ensuring supplier promises are consistently delivered. Request for Quotations to be sent to Suppliers and most competitively priced options to be made available to the customer facing teams, giving them the best possible chance of successfully winning business at good profit margins, whilst ensuring all customer requirements are achievable in terms of quantities, documentation, etc being available. Handling of Procurement for Sales Tenders and supporting Business Development responses to Client (usually Pharma Companies) Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposals (RFP) when called upon. Making sure all costs relating to all inbound transactions (suppliers to the company) are understood, inputted into the system (Motrix/ERP) included within the costing, communicated to customer facing teams and factored into their Pricing. Proactively identify and respond to existing and new tenders working closely with relevant departments to ensure timely profitable submissions Purchase Order follow up ensuring all orders are acknowledged by Suppliers within 24 hours of being sent to Suppliers, and confirmed within 48 hours of being sent. Always looking for ways to continuously improve working practices and procedures ensuring relevant Change Control procedures are followed. Senior Buyer Requirements: Ideally 10 years within a Procurement role Pharmaceuticals Industry experience – preferential or from a similar regulated industry e.g Food Track record of achieving targets Strong communication skills, both oral and written Experienced at using an ERP & CRM system to manage contacts, meeting notes and pipeline of opportunities Excellent Microsoft excel skills In return, you will receive a salary of up to £50,000, medical care, 25 days holiday, competitive pension as well as the chance to join a globally successful organization.
