Overview

You will: Manage Housing Service's compliance with all Health and Safety legislation including Asbestos Management, Gas Safety, Water Hygiene, Electrical Testing and Fire Safety to ensure the housing stock and related assets are kept in good repair, and meet the required Health and Safety (H&S) standards. Manage all contracts across the compliance service with contracts in excess of £1m per annum, ensuring the timely response of contractors, and the completion of high quality, cost effective works. Manage the staff and functions of the compliance team, providing management and information support to ensure the timely, efficient and effective delivery of the compliance service. Deputise for the Property Services Manager as required. Main duties: Lead on the annual review of the Asbestos Management Plan. Oversee the establishment, distribution and administration of the emergency procedures for managing Asbestos. Ensure that Gas Servicing compliance is maintained at 100% in line with regulation and policy. Ensure that regular independent Gas Servicing audits are conducted on a minimum of 5% of completed services to verify the quality and compliance of Landlords Gas Safety Records (LGSR). Undertake research in the procurement of contracts, oversee the tendering process, provide advice on the selection of tenderers, and produce tender reports. Oversee and undertake compliance duties and prepare estimates for works and submissions of budget proposals for upcoming projects. Prepare compliance specifications and briefs and manage the work of external consultants where required. Provide all necessary information on qualifying contracts to enable the completion of the consultation process with leaseholders under Section 20 of the Housing Act.
