Overview
Service Engineer “Are you experienced in remote diagnostics? Show your fault-finding skills, working as a service engineer on ECU's in the rail sector” The CompanyA genuine world leader in power generation product development and servicing. Customers include Rail, Defence, Marine, Agricultural and Construction machinery amongst others.This location specialises in the service of ECU units and diesel engines for the rail industry.You will be working with the customer so the ability to problem solve and interface at all levels whilst carrying out service engineer duties will be essential. The RoleWorking within the rail division you’ll be the product expert for ensuring the performance and availability of modern diesel engines and controls for fleets of rolling stock. At the heart of this role is being able to undertake remote diagnostic work to obtain, evaluate and interpret data to identify likely faults before physically seeing the engine. This represents intermediate fault-finding activity and fault resolution courtesy of effective condition monitoring.Performing preventative and corrective scheduled maintenance on ECU’s (Electronic control units) and Diesel engines.Participate in ongoing improvementsRemote diagnostics, fault finding and interrogation.The Ideal CandidateYou will be experienced in servicing ECUs or engines with Remote Control Maintenance (RCM) or laptop diagnostics and have excellent fault-finding skills.Electrical maintenance of diesel engines and / or propulsion systems and associated electrical control technology. A problem solving mentality.Valid driving licence Due to the nature of the role, if you don't already have rolling stock experience, we welcome applications from the ex-forces personnel, such as RAF, Royal Navy or British Army, or experienced engineers within Automotive, Marine, Aerospace, Yellow goods, HGV or Bus sector.
