Senior Buyer - Site Operations

Introduction The role will be based in the Site Operations and Services Category Team within the Supply Chain Directorate function, reporting into a Procurement Lead. The Site Operations and Services Team are responsible for a portfolio of Procurements with a yearly spend in excess of £200m supporting the operational requirements of the Site that includes key products and services that ensures the Sellafield Site can function safely and efficiently. These may include but not be limited to Procurements for MRO, Gases and Chemicals, Logistics, Security Services, Waste Management, Utilities and Facilities Management Services. The Role The Senior Buyer will be responsible for sub-category development, sourcing activity and management of contracts for Sellafield Ltd and collaborative contracts across the wider NDA estate as necessary. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, customers and professional functions, providing external insight, commercial support advice and guidance and support the continued development and embedding of commercial awareness across the business. Essential/Desirable Skills Essential and Desirable Skills Essential Previous experience working in procurement/ supply covering a broad range of products and services. Knowledge/ strong working knowledge of the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) and Public Contract Regulations or evidence of working in a similarly regulated procurement environment. Highly self-motivated with thirst for knowledge and self-development. Understanding/application/working knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory procedures and standards. Ability to plan, develop and execute successful category/procurement strategies. Proven stakeholder management skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders. Proven ability to translate customer demand into successful procurement tender documentation. Desirable Membership of, commitment to, or studying for Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply qualification s or other relevant equivalent professional qualification.
