Devops Engineer Croydon 3 Months A national security clearance is required for this role but candidates not holding this level of Clearance will be considered. As Cloud Engineer you will join a growing, multi-skilled team supporting a range of customers with complex IT projects. You will be familiar with DevOps culture and with working in multi-skilled self-forming teams using Agile methodologies. Role Purpose: Your skills and knowledge will be used to instrumental for infrastructure and platform design of both on-prem and cloud solutions including any connectivity elements. You will look at the design, provision, operation and automation of the platforms. In addition, you will be able to deliver future services and CI/CD of any existing services, deploying as requested after any approvals. Role Overview: This role will require working with a variety of stakeholders, including clients and you should be able to easily translate complex technical and business topics to match the audience. This means working with any team Leads or Product Managers to make priority decisions on platform and Infrastructure needs. You may also be working with other Platform Engineers or trainees and need to provide mentoring or knowledge share. Key Skills Required: AWS cloud platform, including migration strategies and approaches, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes and development. Use of Confluence, Jira, Slack as collaboration tools and strong familiarity with CI/CD tooling e.g. Jenkins Expertise in developing and operating the infrastructure and software platforms for data ingest and data science teams; Engineering bespoke big data applications Expertise in Unified Compute Systems Coordination of discovery activities, evaluation and tool interoperability. This may include coordinating SMEs in a scrum team Config Management Storage solutions Agile methodologies, particularly working as part of a scrum team is essential DevOps culture, toolsets, technologies Ability to advise or make strategic suggestions for future platform technology, tooling, direction or strategy Suitable candidates should submit their CV in the first instance.
