Junior Software Support One of the West Midlands fastest growing technology companies have just released a number of new key roles. Due to the nature of their products and services they are winning new customers weekly The role As part of the Solutions Delivery Team the Product Consultant will support the Solutions Delivery team and their processes. You will be responsible for delivering the companies configuration service ensuring: • Implementing the solution configuration workbook(s) as defined by the customer and the Business Architect. • The continued development and implementation of internal systems and processes to ensure an effective and efficient configuration service. • Providing guidance to Solutions Delivery and Project Teams. In addition, we’ll be looking for you to demonstrate the following competencies: • Communication • Information collection • Industry knowledge • Close attention to detail • Ability to lead people • Delivery focussed, “completer-finisher” The job : In liaison with assigned customer resources, and as directed by the Senior Product Consultant, Team or Project Manager; Assist in the management of the configuration partners, providing effective support. Identify configuration requirements and test the designated application, consistent with the business approach and strategy, such that it delivers functionality to the agreed specification ready for deployment. Provide advice and business recommendations to the project team on how best to configure applications in order to meet the agreed requirements. To test configuration releases against the configuration workbook, consistent with the business approach and strategy, to ensure that the specified requirements have been delivered prior to sign off. To provide or assist with training and/or support of new customers To provide assistance to the pool of Product Consultants and 3rd party suppliers. Provide configuration to new software development, new store opening or store closures to existing Customers. To participate in internal projects or initiatives that will deliver improved customer service, resource utilisation and efficiency across the business Ensure that all required departmental reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner including (but not exclusively); Timesheets, Expenses, Schedules and Resource plans, Financial Reports Conduct and participate in both pre-sales and post sales configuration of applications to meet the customers functional requirements as directed by the Senior Product Consultant, assigned Project Manager and or Solutions Delivery Manager. Liaise closely with the Senior Product Consultant and or assigned Business Architect in order to gain an in depth understanding of the Client’s operational business practices and processes so that advice and recommendations can be tailored to suit their business needs Maintain close contact Senior Product Consultants and Business Architect during the life of the project in order to provide support and strong guidance on the configuration aspects of the project Recommend practical solutions to business problems via proactive liaison with the Senior Product Consultant, Project Manager and Business Architect. Support the Senior Product Consultants, Solutions Delivery Manager and wider Professional Services group in identifying and developing the team strategy, improved processes and cost management controls. Attend weekly estimating sessions and participate where possible to meet the customer requirements via configuration. Build on current processes and procedures Provide configuration support to Business As Usual (BAU) teams The ideal person will have the following Essential Experience of working with project methodologies in an Agile software development environment Good root cause analysis and problem solving skills. Strong in all communication skills: verbal, listening and written. Enthusiastic and energetic team player who can interact effectively and positively with people of all levels and abilities both internally and externally. Strong planning, organising, time and workload management skills, with the ability to delegate work where appropriate. Practical and structured approach to all aspects of the job role. Agile techniques such as defining user stories & acceptance criteria, story mapping, wire framing. Excellent customer focus. Experience of working with external clients and third parties. The ability to take on a Project Lead BA role upon request, delegating work, reviewing documentation and providing estimations where required. The ability to work under direction or independently and be self motivated. Identifies, understands, communicates and drives change where required. Maintains determination and performance under stress. Demonstrates a sense of urgency – understands the impact on the customer if there is a delay. Demonstrates dedication and a strong sense of customer service. Desirable Good decision maker with the ability to propose considered and creative solutions to suit both customer needs Experience of User Experience (UX) design Experience of working within a project team environment Travel Required – Some travel required UK & International travel required dependent on project needs.
