Production Engineer

Production Engineer (Heavy Maintenance) – 12 months fixed term contract As a Production Engineer you’ll be responsible for project engineering all aspects of heavy maintenance projects at our Eastleigh depot (Southampton) . You’ll support the Heavy Maintenance Manager in the mobilisation, delivery and closing out of heavy maintenance contracts. You’ll create the project work breakdown structure, MS project plan and resolve any engineering challenges that arise. You’ll also work closely with the Project Delivery Team to resolve material or obsolescence issues. You’ll receive a salary of £35,734 per annum along with fantastic additional benefits including: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, pension, healthcare and life cover, Arriva Rail Travel Pass, Cycle to Work scheme and Arriva Village retailer discount scheme. You’ll be employed on a 12 months fixed term contractand work 37.5 hours per week, 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday. What will I need to be considered for this Production Engineer (Heavy Maintenance) role? Proven experience within heavy maintenance project / production engineering Ability to interpret engineering drawings to provide technical solutions A solid understanding of traction and rolling stock systems, in particular diesel multiple units Good working knowledge of MS Office and Excel, ideally with experience of Microsoft Project and SAP or equivalent Although not essential, the below would be highly advantageous for this Production Engineer role: Educated to degree level or BTEC / City and Guilds certificate in Engineering Project management qualification, APM, Prince 2, or similar related qualification Who we are: Arriva TrainCare provides Light and Heavy Train Maintenance services to the railway industry from its six strategically located maintenance depots.
