Overview
Are you a Buyer looking to develop your career as a procurement professional in great company? We’re looking for a Buyer to join our procurement team who work closely with our business areas in managing the sourcing and contract activity for a portfolio of procurement categories. We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate ambition and a supportive approach in the management of commercial risks and opportunities across the business. What you’ll be doing… As a Buyer in Procurement, you’ll be responsible for providing support to procurement lifecycle activities including sourcing, contract management and supplier management across Procurement spend categories. This is a great opportunity as you’ll have opportunity to be responsible for lower value, less complex procurement requirements, as well as providing support as required to other Procurement team members delivering higher value, more complex commercial/procurement activity. Day to day you’ll… Undertake to design, implement and deliver procurement & contracts strategies to fulfil Procurement requirements and business objectives, either for own procurement activity, or in support of other team members. Establish and manage goods, services and works agreements in compliance with Bristol Water’s Procurement Policy and relevant EU and UK regulations, legislation and procurement law. Providing support to Procurement team members on sourcing requirements. Ensuring on-going business stakeholders’ compliance with Bristol Water procurement policy, procedures and processes and assisting in the development and implementation of any new policy, procedures or processes. Working with the business to draft PQQs, ITTs, RFQs and RFIs. Ensuring efficient and accurate administration and maintenance of records, files, contractual documentation and associated systems (including vendor master records, contract calendar and framework creation). Supplier and market analysis including data collection and preparation (for example analysing suppliers’ operations to determine factors that affect prices). Bristol Water spend and demand data breakdown and categorization. Ensuring efficient and accurate administration and maintenance of records and files and updating sourcing systems/databases (e.g. ERP) Market, supplier, contract and spend analysis Provide commercial support and appraisal to manage contract performance (cost and quality), risk and change. Lead regular supplier and contract performance reviews, based on feedback from supplier, business stakeholders and supply chain data. Manage and develop supplier relationships to deliver breakthrough performance in cost, service and quality - lead the commercial and contractual interaction with suppliers. Provide insight and support to the ongoing monitoring and management of suppliers, including due diligence checks, market insights, KPIs, contract analysis and end-user feedback. Act as the first point of contact to both suppliers and internal stakeholders to assist in resolution of sourcing, procurement policy, process, system and relevant source-to-pay queries. Monitor and report on the timely procurement approval of shopping carts. Provide support and guidance to other teams delivering Procurement administration activity. What we’re looking for… Proven experience in a purchasing environment, ideally in utilities industry or similar environment such as Public Sector Self-motivation, proactivity and flexibility while working in teams Ability to work with minimum supervision; efficiently managing own time and taking ownership and responsibility for delivering against performance objectives Logical approaches to analysing problems and identifying solutions A flexible approach to the work environment and an ability to manage running a number of tender agreements at any given time Intellectually curious, analytical and adept at identifying new opportunities Strong IT skills with a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet tools and MS Project Knowledge of ERP systems Ideally you’ll have NVQ level 3 Supply Chain Management (or equivalent), or even working towards CIPS level 3 qualifications would be great Most importantly, you will need to demonstrate our core values: TRUST, SUPPORT, ACCOUNTABILITY, RESPECT, PROFESSIONALISM, PRIDE and AMBITION What’s in it for you?
