Engineering Operations Manager

Compass Resourcing are seeking to recruit a senior Production Engineering Manager, or Engineering Operations Manager for our Engineering client in the Bradford district. The business are part of a wider group and form an impressive company, machining products and components aimed largely at the oil & gas market. There are significant career development opportunities. They manufacture a niche, high quality and high precision range of products. The manufacturing process is the machining of components, and much of the work is in producing bespoke, one off items. Required is a candidate hailing from a machining background to head the production unit, lead and inspire others, and to develop a world class manufacturing unit. Responsibilities include: · Operational improvements · LEAN manufacturing techniques · Process Improvements · Continuous Improvement and World Class manufacturing · People Management · Development of future leaders · Empowering, inspiring and leading others · Coaching mentoring and leading employees Experience required: · Proven experience in a leadership role · Knowledge, and experience of managing a CNC machining production environment · Knowledge of engineering principles in precision manufacturing · Operated as a 2 nd line manager · Proven experience of coaching, mentoring and/or people development · Strong and effective communicator, able to gain buy in and inspire others · Resilient character · Change management · LEAN manufacturing principles · Degree, or similar vocational qualification This is a rare, interesting and challenging role.
