Software Engineer, C++, DirectX, OpenGL, Image Processing Hatfield, Hertfordshire Salary: Excellent Skills / Experience Required: Object orientated C++ development Understanding of image processing at the raw buffer level Multi-threaded programming Experience of client-server and web based application development Most of: DirectX/OpenGL programming SQL programming and a good understanding of database design macOS development HTML, CSS and JavaScript development including React & SASS Experience of working with XML & JSON Understanding of HTTP protocols and web server software (IIS) General IT knowledge (networking, PC assembly, OS and application problem solving) Responsibilities: Analysing user requirements Writing and testing code, refining and rewriting it as necessary Writing new software programs Developing existing programs by analysing and identifying areas for modification Creating technical specifications Continually update technical knowledge and skills Attend relevant briefings and meetings as and when required Presenting ideas for software improvements Collaborate with other programmers to design and implement features Quickly produce well-organised, optimised source code Debug existing source code and polish features Work independently when required Carry out tasks to a high standard with attention to detail Follow the coding standards set out by the software team leader to create a high level of consistency within the source code Work closely with others to ensure the software produced is cohesive Actively contribute to the process of continual improvement, with regard to self, team and systems Be able to work on development with minimal assistance A fantastic opportunity for a C++ Software Engineer to work for a highly regarded global scientific company developing new and exciting software.
