Overview

Building Careers are recruiting several new permanent posts for a National Construction company. Our client are one of the UK's leading construction and development companies with a history of delivering large scale projects including Student Accommodation, Hotels, PRS schemes & new build housing with values ranging from £20-£100m in project value. Job Title: Compliance Manager Accountable To: Head of Group Quality Compliance Main Responsibilities: To monitor quality of construction and overall product and compliance to approved design. To implement improvements and control measures to reduce post construction defects and improve construction quality. To promote a positive image of the Company. The following tasks are not in priority order; Assess reported defects and take measures working with the Customer Care Department and Construction teams to reduce defects. Carry out site visits to audit and report compliance to construction design specification. Inform Construction teams and Sub-Contractors of compliance and specification requirements when necessary. Support construction teams in compiling a full quality audit record of key construction stages for each development/project. Track required actions of construction staff and sub-contractors to highlight and resolve noncompliance and quality issues. Provide reports to key stakeholders in the construction process to inform/assist decisions on procurement, design, etc. Work with project/site managers to compile QA record for clients O&M file. Develop new processes to identify and resolve quality and compliance issues. Investigate post practical completion reports of noncompliance and provide action plan for resolution/improvement. Liaise with clients on matters of compliance and quality when required. Report issues to assist compilation of periodic (ideally monthly) Customer Care and QA Newsletters / Good Practice Guides Feedback information for monthly Customer Care Meetings with Managing Director. Carry out inspections and surveys of reported items to ascertain the reason for the defect and the responsibility. Call to meet clients to inspect items and resolve disputes. Continually look for ways of enhancing the reputation and improving the Customer Care Department procedures. Carry out inspections and surveys for Quality and compliance manager as and when required. Work with the VFP and Fieldview Teams to create and update new forms and procedures. Knowledge, skills and experience required: Requiring construction related qualifications Good knowledge of Construction sector & processes. Good computer knowledge and record of working with and implementing new systems Strong time management skills Experienced in interpreting/understanding specification, drawings and construction processes.
