Overview
STAR Recruitment are currently working with a national facilities management company who is managing the staffing of large NHS sites in Scotland and across the UK. They are looking to employ a number of Mechanical Engineers for a large NHS site in Edinburgh. This is a freelance position with an immediate start on offer that will last for a duration of 3 months . Due to the current issues facing the NHS and the UK as a whole, there is a good chance that these positions could last for a longer duration. Responsibilities: To work in the accordance with the requirements od rules for the safe operation of systems as a competent person. Carry out planned preventative maintenance, inspections, commissioning and testing in accordance with published procedures, completing all report sheets and test certificates. Involved in the maintenance and minor works service which covers a wide range of mechanical equipment servicing large industrial units: Heating and ventilation equipment; Dual fired boilers; Refrigeration, chillers and air conditioning equipment. Carry out emergency repairs as required. Liaise with Maintenance Supervisor and Mechanical Manager. Additional duties may be required. Qualifications & Experience: Previous experience of building service systems, technical services provision and general maintenance is essential. Mechanical/Engineering apprenticeship – C&G, Scotvec (SVQ3) or equivalent. Experience within a Healthcare environment would be an advantage. Enhanced Disclosure check. Good communication skills.
