What about a career in recruitment? But what is it? What does it entail? Honestly, recruitment is a fast-paced telesales role. You are speaking to people day in day out Firstly you will speak to clients - who will be businesses that you will be helping find employees. Then you will be speaking to candidates (these guys are the ones that you are helping find jobs) It involves: Face to face meetings Sales and negotiation skills (all will be taught in training which will be provided) Cold calling (calling up people who aren’t expecting your call - need to be resilient for this one) Making commission - this is on top of your basic salary, none of that commission only malarkey What do you need to be good recruitment consultant? Sales experience or commercial experience (office work, being on the phones, this is what our clients are super interested in) 2:1 Degree in any field (we aren’t fussy on the subject, but 2:1 is essential) Big personality with a dash of charisma (its important to be confident on the phone, without this recruitment just wouldn’t be right for you) Competitive and resilient background - have you excelled in sport? Are you the type of person to flip the monopoly board at Christmas? Are you someone who never gives up?
