Front End Developer - JavaScript Engineer Are you a Front End Developer with skills across usability and interface design? Do you have a passion for the environment & sustainability, and want to build tools that will make a huge impact? A digital environmental consultancy is seeking a Front End Developer to join their digital services team, building tools for both public and private sector organisations to reduce their impact across a range of environmental pressures. This is a great opportunity for a Front End Developer to make a real impact with their work The Front End Developer will join a team of PHP and Drupal Developers to build a range of responsive web applications. Projects will vary, and may include implementing data visualisation tools, building workflow applications, and designing emergency response tools. You will be engaging on some really exciting and critical projects on a national and international level - could there be anything better to work on? The team is looking for a really enthusiastic Front End Developer who can bring the energy and experience to bring their tools to life with highly usable and clean user interfaces. In addition to a pro-active attitude, you should bring : Proven experience in building responsive websites / web applications Skills in JavaScript and HTML Knowledge or experience in PHP development environments Previous experience with content management systems / CMS (e.g. Drupal, WordPress, Joomla etc.) A knowledge of usability and accessibility standards There is plenty of room for growth in this role, so if you don’t have the following skills then you can expect to learn more about : Front end build tools (e.g. Webpack) Modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries (e.g. React, Node.js, MobX, Redux) Data visualisation (D3.js, HighCharts) Progressive web applications / PWAs Agile practices (TDD, Scrum) Graphic design tools (Adobe PS / Illustrator) So if you’re interested in making a positive impact in your next role and expand your skillset at the same time, then click through to apply The role offers a range of great benefits, including the opportunity to work remotely where needed. You’ll be expected to be available in the office for critical team meetings, however can take 2-3 days remote per week. This role is based in Didcot, Oxfordshire, with great public transport links via Didcot Parkway train station. The commute is achievable from London, Reading, Banbury and Bristol.
