Connect2Kent are looking for a full time Administrative District Assistant to work in a busy Special Educational Needs department in Gravesend. Your role will be to administer all routine aspects of the statutory assessment process, working office based with Children and Young People from the age of 0 to 25 years. Main duties and responsibilities: Administer all routine aspects of the statutory assessment process including ongoing monitoring and statutory processes for children and young people with Educational Health Care plans. Be the named contact for families /carers, young people and their educational setting once an EHC plan has been finalised, be part of a team responsible for the ongoing monitoring and support. Prepare and/or contribute papers/research information for a variety of purposes such as tribunals, Annual Review, phased transfer and complaints, executing any required actions. To be the first point of contact, offering support and advice to parents and schools regarding procedure/policy/general information relating to SEN as well as signpost staff, stakeholders and members of the public in relation to the Local Offer. Attend Annual Reviews where required and robustly scrutinise Annual Review paperwork identifying plans that need to be amended, ceased and identify any actions or changes in provision or placement. Ensure that all reviews of statements/EHC plans are carried out by schools annually and that the procedures adopted by schools are in line with policy on SEN and meet statutory obligations. Monitor own caseload and be proactive about resolving issues, taking advice as required to ensure there is no casework drift. To adhere to all policies, process and systems associated with Statutory Assessment and placement. To inform Manager and SEN Finance of any proposed changes to provision following an annual review and update the statement of special educational need/ Education, Health and Care plans accordingly. Maintain SEN databases and files ensuring all information is accurate and updated. Requirements: A basic DBS check is required for this post at a cost of £25 as you will be working with sensitive information.
